Ingredients of Bhindi Tawa Pulao

  1. Prepare 2 cups of Raw rice.
  2. Prepare 2 tsp of Salt.
  3. You need 400 gms of Okra or bhindi,thinly sliced.
  4. It's 3 tbsp of Ghee.
  5. Prepare 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
  6. It's 1 tbsp of Ginger garlic paste.
  7. You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric.
  8. Prepare 2 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  9. You need 2 tbsp of Pav bhaaji masala,heaped.
  10. You need 2 of nos Bay leaves.
  11. It's 2 tbsp of Tomato paste.
  12. It's 1 of nos Onion sliced thinly.
  13. You need 1/2 cup of Spring onions chopped.
  14. You need 1/4 cup of Coriander leaves chopped.

Bhindi Tawa Pulao instructions

  1. First off, soak rice for about 20 minutes. Cook it al dente. Drain and keep aside. In a pan, heat oil and saute onions first. Add in the ginger garlic paste next and saute for another minute. Now add finely chopped tomatoes. Cook till soft and mushy..
  2. Add in the rest of the spices along with the salt and saute for another minute. At this point, add in the thinly sliced okra to it..
  3. Keep the heat on a low and simmer it for around another 10-12 minutes or till the raw smell disappears. Cover it and let it simmer without adding any water. After 12 minutes, add the cooked rice and stir well..
  4. Cover with a lid again and allow it to simmer for another 5 minutes or so. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with any raita of your choice..
